I Just Saw an Ad for "Fullbar", What Other Parameters Determine Hunger Besides-?
- "Fullness"?
I don’t Hear Much About Hoodia Anymore.
Thanks K, I Think Many people Think Weight Loss is "Easy", a Myth Long Perpetuated By Advertisers (Revealing their Low Opinion of their Audience). In my Estimation, Not So Simple, Now, Ultimately it is a Matter of "Calories In, Calories Out". It has Been Experience, that Overweight people, for the Most Part, Know it, and Know Full Well What Needs to Be Done. Again, Not So Simple, e. g., I read an Abstract of a Paper, a Little While Back (I can’t Find it), Demonstrating a Connection Between High Calorie Foods and Addiction Behavior (Consistent With a "Homeostasis Model" of Addiction). The Problem With "Fullbar" is that it Greatly Simplifies a Complex Problem.

I highly doubt this will be a popular answer. But, well, anywayzz…
One basic thing that determines hunger in many people’s lives is money. No money? No food. Better find a way to ignore hunger and enjoy what and when you can eat.
Buying into weight loss scams, like "Fullbar" for the problem of weight loss seems luxurious, in my mind, definitely a waste of money too, though. I’m certain it’s not easy to lose weight, but, there is very little choice when there is no money for food.
I don’t have very much empathy for over-eaters nor interest in all the diet scams. No matter what the scam of the day is, weight loss will always only be achieved by: eating less and healthier, exercising, and, hey with money left to burn for some other "magical quick fix" or to give to others whose last problem is being too fat.
The fact that so many people can only whine about being overweight in the wake of the reality of many others that don’t have enough money to eat, saddens me.
I’m generally more empathetic than this, but, this is something where I just don’t see too many sides. I know there are several medical issues that can make weight loss difficult if not impossible. But, if you’re too fat because you’re just eating too much, and it’s a concern for you? Stop buying food. Immediately give what you would normally spend on food to a shelter. This contention is terrible, yes? I’m a bigot, I suspect
.
EDIT: This NAPE drug (delineated in your link) looks like more false hope guised as a pretty hypothesis. I doubt it will get past the lab. If it does, well, a nice addition to the scams already available for weight loss.
How can this possibly work when the brain’s appetite centre, in the hypothalamus, surely has already shut down neurons involved in signalling hunger among the overweight and obese. This mechanism of action presumes obesity and overeating is related to hunger. A pile of sh!t.
Even on the level of logic, people aren’t overeating because they are hungry. The phrase OVEReating literally means people are OVEReating for reasons obviously NOT related to hunger. Please.
There are already appetite suppresant drugs on the market. If hunger was the issue in obesity and overeating, no one would be overweight, now would they?
In any event, advertisers and the purveyors of Fullbar, yeah, I think this is about exploiting desperation as well as society’s desire for and belief in quick fixes–this latter bit? Something the media created, in the first place.
